Originally commissioned by and presented for a branch of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, this workshop presents an overview of rapid fieldwork/qualitative research with an emphasis on qualitative data analysis. Saldaña provides a brief literature review of rapid research in health care by some of the field’s premiere writers (James Beebe, Cecilia Vindrola-Padros, etc.). Key principles and methods of rapid qualitative assessment are addressed, along with summary and synthesis techniques. Participants will simulate exercises in thematic analysis. Participants will:
- review the principles and methods of rapid qualitative research developed by its key methodologists
- simulate a micro-experience in team-based rapid qualitative research
- access related literature and resources for continued professional development in rapid qualitative research methods
The workshop will take place via the Zoom platform.
